The Actor Guild of Nigeria (AGN) president Ibinabo Fiberesima turned 44 on Friday, January 13, 2016. She decided to give back to the society in a more meaning and impactful way than she has ever done before. She awarded five indigent children from across Nigeria scholarships with a promise to reach out to another family of three children in Kogi state to make it eight.

At the event where she doled out the scholarship, according to NAIJ.com Entertainment took her aside and she spoke about the two times she died and rose again.
Any near life threatening experience in your 44 years on earth?
If you see what I wrote on my Facebook wall, I talked about the lumps in my breast three times which I accidentally found out. They were having a screening in my aunt’s hospital and I walked in and said let me even get screened.It was God that saved me that I did not die that day. The doctor that screened me suddenly screamed and I was like what is happening? If I wasn’t strong I would not have survived the alarm he raised. I asked him what it was and he told me about the lump in my breast and I said did they write cancer there.
When I got home I couldn’t sleep that night, I called my dad who is a surgeon and he asked me to Port Harcourt. He checked it and he said we have to get it out almost immediately.

Did he remove the lump himself?
No, he was at the hospital and did not leave until I came out of the theatre. And the result wouldn’t come out for like two weeks. My father wouldn’t eat. That’s how afraid everybody was. So we must take care of ourselves. If we do checkup regularly it reduces the risk of some of these diseases. Sure, we don't know some of them. We just wake up and discover we have them.
Last year, when the case of the doctor who died at your hands in a car accident was revisited, how did you pull through?
I wouldn’t lie o, I died like a million times over. And as I always try to see the positive side of things so I just said God I’m going back there, get me out.

It never occurred to you give up?
No, the first one I would have committed s*icide. You know it was so bad because I just had the breast surgery which nobody knows about because I tried not to put myself in the news so I was in a bad state. I went in there and people that have been there the first time, some are still there. I just took it and thank God today I am out.
So what’s the current situation with the family of the deceased?
My darling, it is the grace of God because I am still begging them. I am begging anybody that knows them to join me and beg them. I am begging everybody to pray with me. I am not a bad person. I have done it all. People have said I didn’t beg, but God knows I have done everything any human being will do. I am still begging. I’m begging because someone dear lost his life. So it breaks my heart when I read what people say about me.
If you have an opportunity to change things, what will you change?
Ha, that accident will not happen o. That man will still be with his family. Sometimes, I breakdown there is nothing I have not heard o.
What really happened?
I was blocked by armed robbers and I swerved to avoid them and an oncoming vehicle hit me and that’s it.
